Who Is This For?

Data Analysts and Data Scientists interested in expanding their basic Python skill set for more complex data-based projects.

Any prerequisites?
  • Familiarity with control flow (loops, etc.) in Python.
  • Familiarity with NumPy and DataFrames.
  • Familiarity with a variety of Python data structures (lists, sets, tuples, and dictionaries).
What will I be able to do after this Course?
  • Construct and debug complex functions, including writing good function documentation.
  • Use Pandas and visualization libraries to manipulate and analyze time series data, categorical data, and numerical data.
  • Use native Python and Regex to manipulate and analyze string data.

    Sprint 1: Getting the Most Out of Your Functions
    National Treasures, an outdoor concierge service that helps people plan vacations in state and national parks, needs some analysis on where to invest in building more amenities for campsites. You're taking over this project from a colleague, completing their work, debugging some final issues, and making a pitch to leadership.
    Sprint 2: Working With Different Data Types
    National Treasures is running a promotion on trips to New Hampshire, Utah, and Montana. The product team wants to be able to give a weather report to entice travel at certain times of the year. You’ll create compelling and informative visualizations to help the company decide how to present this information to customers.
    Sprint 3: String Data and Regex
    National Treasures has rolled out a successful pilot feature for premium members - they can write a brief description of their ideal camping vacation and a concierge at National Treasures will provide recommendations for where and when to go. This feature has brought so much engagement and customer satisfaction that the product team wants to automate the service and make it free for everyone. It’s your job to build the prototype!

    We are excited that Modal now offers a direct bill payment option for Booz Allen employees. The direct bill payment option enables employees to enroll in learning opportunities with no upfront costs.

    This payment option will require the employee to sign a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) agreement with Modal to release grades/completion to Booz Allen to satisfy the FlexEd Program completion requirement.
