Non-data professionals interested in cleaning and preparing data they’ve collected for later analysis.

Any prerequisites?
  • Familiar with data fundamentals, such as the difference between structured and unstructured data.
  • Familiar with how to read a data plan.
  • Familiar with data collection processes.
  • Knowledge of common spreadsheet tools (ex. Excel) to edit, sort, filter, validate, and manipulate data.

    Learning Path: Preparing Useful Data
    This course is part of Modal's Preparing Useful Data Learning Path. Take this course individually or enroll in all three courses and take on a Capstone Project.
    Course 1: Data Collection
    Learn methods for collecting useful and usable data, such as identifying potential data sources that align with a research question, selecting the right data collection method, and curating data from existing sources.
    Course 2: Representing Accurate Insights
    Differentiate between different types of bias, identify misleading statistics, and develop your own defensible experiment that mitigates the effect of bias.

    We are excited that Modal now offers a deferred direct bill payment option for Booz Allen employees.

    The deferred direct bill payment option enables employees to enroll in learning opportunities with no upfront costs. This payment option will require the employee to sign a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) agreement with Modal to release grades/completion to Booz Allen to satisfy the FlexEd Program completion requirement.
